Environmental Awareness

Here at Bampfield Farm we try to minimise our impact on the environment in any way possible. We began our journey in 2000 when the farm started its Organic conversion.

Now 8 years on we are using crop rotations and management to avoid the use of pesticides, weed killer and chemical fertilizers.

Also on the farm we minimise and recycle all forms of plastic and cardboard.

Our guests are encouraged to recycle all glass bottles, tins, cans, plastic containers, newspapers and cardboard. A compost bin is available for vegetable waste.

Both cottages have loft insulation, wall insulation and double glazing to reduce heating requirements. The wood burners are supplied with home grown wood from Bampfield which is sustainable.

We have been replacing bulbs with low energy bulbs. Please help us by closing doors when it is cold outside and switching lights and televisions off stand by.
