Bampfield Farm is the perfect base for a family holiday.
Here at Bampfield Farm we provide more than just a place to stay. We are proud to offer activities for families right on our doorstep and ideas when you want to travel further afield. Making Bampfield a fantastic, child-friendly holiday location.
In the cottages themselves, we have travel cots, high chairs and stair gates available. Just let us know in advance if you would like to borrow these.
Farm Activities
Bampfield Farm is the perfect base for a family holiday.
Being based on a farm, we offer a wide range of farm-based activities for little ones to enjoy right here. It provides the whole family with a truly unique countryside experience.
Children love the chance to live close to the farm animals and we give tours of the farm to all our small guests.
Farm activities include:
- pony rides
- feeding the animals
- ride-on toy tractors
- plenty of space to run around safely
We also have a playroom, swings and a slide, a sandpit, and a football goal.
Family activities
North Devon is the perfect destination for a family holiday – when you are ready to leave the farm, there is lots to see and do. We have long sandy beaches, rock pooling, bike trails and countless visitor attractions including Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park.
You can borrow lots of beach supplies from us. We have buckets, spades, fishing nets, bodyboards, and windbreaks that you can use for free. It all helps to reduce the amount of luggage you bring with you!
Best of all, we understand the area and offer practical advice to families. So if it’s a rainy day we can suggest lots of activities to help keep everyone entertained.
Attractions
North Devon also has plenty of attractions to enjoy. The ones listed below are some of our favourites and are all located within a half-hour drive from us at Bampfield Farm Cottages. We really are in the perfect location to access all the North Devon has to offer.
- Exmoor Zoo : Family-focused zoo with a focus on conservation.
- The Big Sheep : Sheep themed amusement park.
- The Milky Way : An amusement park with roller coasters and wildlife displays.
- Air Extreme : The ultimate trampoline park in Devon.
- Lynton to Barnstaple Railway: Restored narrow gauge railway on Exmoor.
