Beautiful rural landscape
At Bampfield Farm we’re surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty. Plus we’re just a short drive from two national parks. Exmoor is to the north and to the south is Dartmoor. Both are filled with diverse and dramatic landscapes including moorland, farms, valleys and woodland just waiting to be discovered. So there are plenty of landscapes to explore during your stay at Bampfield Farm.
Add to that all the fantastic beaches to visit – whatever the weather and you’ll be spoiled for choice. Perhaps you’ll take the children to build sandcastles, or have a clifftop walk to to blow away the cobwebs. You could even get on your wetsuit and ride the waves at one of the top surf spots in the UK.
Towns and villages to explore
We have a wonderful mix of fishing villages, rural hamlets and old country towns on our doorstep.
Some of our favourites include the picturesque towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, which cling to the steep wooded valley and plunge towards the harbour. Best of all, you can use the world-famous water-powered cliff railway to travel between the two towns.
Another Bampfield Farm favourite is historic Clovelly. Imagine little white cottages set along a steep cobbled street and a fishing harbour. Add an ice cream, a cream tea or a pint at the 18th century Red Lion – it’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
